Spoiled out of date pack in Flavor Mix 20 pack

I bought a Frito Lay Flavor Mix 20 pack at a Kreoger-Fry's store last week with an expiration date of August 14, 2012. In it was a Cheetos Crunchy pack with an expiration date of January 2011 which was spoiled. Another Cheetos Crunchy pack was dated July 3, 2012 not Aug 14, 2012. I would like to know why this is happening. and who I can contact to get these packs replaced. Is Frito Lay just trying to get rid of out-dated product by sneaking them into current multi packs? If so, that's pretty sick. If it is an individual packer, the company needs to find out who is doing it and replace that employee.

You should bring the pack back to the store. It was obviously the guy who stocks the shelves for Frito Lay.

He must have rotated.

There is so much pressure on the sales guys to sell and not pull anything from the stores but product goes stale and because of the pressure from management the sales person is afraid to pull it and credit it out. And anyways, the government wants a date on the bags, but the chips inside are good for months.

Baked Lays not eatable...cardboard with salt added

I love Lays Classic and thought I'd try the 'Baked' due to caloric savings. I have tried other brands of baked chips and found them to be very satisfying; I was truly shocked at the unappealing taste of Lays. To be fair I asked several other people to taste them for a mini survey, the result was unanimous: not good ! Each participant agreed that the texture was unappealing, the taste flat without a crunch, and saltless. We decided to buy Lays Classic to help alleviate the disappointment....it worked. I'll stick with Classic chips ...a lesson learned ! Cheers...

I think fried chips taste better, but you got the grease, and salt to contend with. Your choice, and thank heavens you got a choice.

But, I hate Lays for other reasons.

Like how they treat truck drivers out there picking up their potatoes ... They are jerks for real, and I would not carry their taters anymore...

Patrick Nkk

shut up. you and a couple of your loser buddies didn't like a chip.

I'm sorry to tell you this but your taste buds don't apply when posting a topic on this site. if Lay's stuck something bad in your chip bag or if they ripped you off somehow, then complain. honestly, Baked Lay's are pretty good.

you just didn't like them probably because you're used to sticking a large bag of regular chips down your throat every day. I'm sorry to tell you this but baking a cake and then eating it doesn't count as eating a baked version of a snack.

You deserve the same as any other American. How dare you bring some status which I'm sure is flawed in some way into a conversation with Frito Lay, You sir are complete trash and your NCO has failed you tremendously.

TRASH!

LOL, who gives a *** ***, you think your the only veteran? Get the *** over it ***!

First of all, thank you for your service!! You are the reason the rest of can do anything in this country :) When it comes to Frito Lay not servicing your store, does it have anything to do with you wanting to pay cash?

They have had a lot of sales reps get robbed and therefore they don't carry any cash and everything has to go to an E-Bill. Company policy and no way around it. If it's not that then you should contact someone higher up.

You definitely want Frito in your stores. Great profit margins and the best and most well known products.

FRITO LAY CHEETOS posting of billboards in SPANISH!? This AMERICA!

FRITO LAY CHEETOS posting of billboards in SPANISH!? YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED! This is AMERICA what a slap in the face to the men & women fighting everyday past & present for our country, our lives, our freedom! Disgusting! In our little beautiful blue collar town community of Sunland-Tujunga, CA, I am sickened by seeing a huge billboard CHEETOS ad in SPANISH!!! I am not racist but I absolutely am prejudiced to those who come here & are so incredibly disrespectful to not even learn ENGLISH! Funny how we don't see any other language in advertisements, & it's not because the population of Latinos is higher, it's because every other ethnicity loves & respects this country & takes pride in learning ENGLISH, OUR COUNTRIES LANGUAGE!

I habla no espanoie! I speaka Englishe!

But, I don't care if a sign is in Spanish, so get over yourself, already! Besides, Spanish speaking people are cool, hardworking, and do jobs, our lazy, fat American ***, don't want to do anyways, and I should now, because I am a 400 pound fat truckdriver, who seen many Hispanics busting ***, out in the fields, and so poor, they sleeping in the dirt, on pallets!

Guest

Calm down. In case you didn't know, the Mexicans were in the western states LONG before Americans settled in. If anything, YOU should learn some Spanish seeing as though they were here first.

Guest

It was humans who set boundaries between countries. God made this earth for all of us to enjoy so chill out if frito lay posted a billboard in spanish.

Spanish is just a language just like english, chinese, french.... It is just a way to communicate. It doesn't make a person any less or any better. I speak both spanish and english.

I have an aunt who is chinese and speaks english, spanish and chinese. Frito lay is just trying to maket their product and make money. They are making millions while you write about it here. Don't get so worked up about things that don't matter so much.

Catty is right, many military people speak spanish. I have some friends and 2 relatives who serve or have served in our military and they all speak spanish :)

Wow. Somebody's an ***-****.

Who gives a *** what language frito lay advertises in. Just boycott them if you're so angry.

Fritos- Disappointed Customer

What the heck happened to the "Original" corn chips. They were always the "go to" chip for me. If the fritos themselves get any smaller and the packaging any smaller...they will disappear! They are so small now that it is hard to crab from the bag and eat. You may was well call them "Frito" Bits!!! (This is from the individual size bags that now has a net weight of 2 whopping ounces! Will never buy again. Too bad bacause they use to be the best! And the other very sad part of this is ...the price went up!!!! What else is new?? Too bad!!

Crispier chips broke tooth

Purchased a bag of the new crispier tostitos. Clerk at grocery store check out asked have you ever tried these?

I answered no and she explained they make a lot of noise when you eat them. Not only did they live up to the crispier (hence loud) claim, they also managed to crack off a quarter of my molar. My teeth are in excellent condition, in fact my dentist always tells me how strong my teeth are. Additionally, I am a middle aged adult with a history of only one small cavity that I had filled at age 30.

If this product could do this to my healthy strong teeth there could very well be a problem with these chips. I am going to make an emergency trip to my dentist today and then call Frito lay to ask them to remove this product from the shelves until more tests are done.

Buyer beware...wanted to give everyone the benefit of my experience. Would not purchase these for my super bowel party

What is really going on

My brother- in- law works for Frito Lay in Lousiville Ky and the hours he keeps are ridiculous. Apparently the company he keeps are even worse. Because it is with a warehouse manager. Prior to starting with Frito Lay (april 2011), he and my sister did not have any problems. And now his big boss, coworkers, and others are encouraging this behavior. Why? I thought this company cared about the values of being a family. And now I cannot even get response back from the VP of HR. I am looking for resolutions. I want a response from VP soon.

Lays Potato chips

Why during the time in our economy, do LAYS raise their prices? from $3.49 to $4.49 I have been eating Lays all my life and didn't mind the price changes over the years, but this is just wrong, since the economy is doing so bad.

Change the prices back and hold on to a customer I will not pay this price for your chips. I rather buy the off brand.

Alot of people are raising the price of their products but I never thought Lays would do their buyers this way. Please go back to the regular prices.

yes the prices of lays chips and many, many, other products have gone up an awful lot due to GREED and inflation.but you can be sure of one thing when inflation goes down the prices will never go down.which leaves me with no choice but to buy all generic products.

Guest

ihave seen the size of a bag of lays chip go from 13 ozs to 10 ozs over night and the price has gone up quit a bit during the same time period.im done buying lays chips or other lays products. instead when want chips i will buy a generic brand.

Guest

During this economy is exactly why companies have to raise their prices. It's called inflation.

As commodity prices go up (oil, steel, produce, etc.) Frito-lay's entire production process has risen in probably every facet of production. If it costs more for the farmers to produce potatoes, transport the product, package the product, ship the product then it cuts into their margin. A company must maintain its margin to stay in business. If they didn't raise their prices they wouldn't be able to produce the product you enjoy and they would go out of business.

To your point however, they must weigh the costs of consumers like yourself switching to cheaper brands. It is a very fine line all companies must walks. It is not a rip-off that they raise their asking price for their product. It is business and American business have to negotiate high corporate tax rates and a government that continues to print more money causing inflationary pressures on their products.

The real rip-off is what the U.S. government is doing to its citizens and corporations.

False advertising on package of Ruffles Beer Battered Onion Rings

Today I bought a package of Ruffles Beer Batterted Onion Rings with a picture of onion rings on the package. I was very dissappointed to find potato chips inside. It seems like false advertising on the package. People expect to find onion rings inside. It might be wise to change the picture on the front of the package. It would be more informative to have a picture of a potato chip on the bag. I liked the flavor of the chips but it seems to be false advertising on the bag.I but a lot of your products an d enjoy them all. Please take my suggestion into consideratiion. Thank you.

:) hi just a suggestion! can you put a 20 flavor pack, of sourcream and barbecue packs in one bag?

most of other brands that are with the two products are not a favarite of what i like.and its like im waisting my money, because those products will go bad,or will be out dated.and more of your items will sale more, because i will have more of the kind i will eat! thank you for listening.

Guest

I'm sorry, When I saw a bag of chips that said buffalo wings and a pucture of buffalo wings on the bag, I didn't think wow lays is making bufflo wings now...

Guest

@noddsv Seriously? There is obviously a difference.

Guest

i definitely agree! i just bought a bag yesterday all excited thinking maybe they wld be like funyuns but with the beer battered flavor(how awesome wld that be?) and i was sadly mistaken. i wouldnt quite call it false advertising but its misleading for sure!

Guest

It is not false advertising. If Ruffles had STATED that onion rings were in the bag it would be false advertising. As the other posters have mentioned, it is merely telling you "it's like eating onion rings."

Guest

BOUGHT THESE THINKING I WAS BUYING BEER BATTER ONION RINGS AS THE BAG HAS IN LARGE LETTERS BEER BATTER ONION RINGS (TINY LETTERS NOT NOTICEABLE UNDERNEATH POTATO CHIPS) AND A PICTURE OF ONION RINGS, NOT POTATO CHIPS. GET HOME AND FIND I HAVE POTATO CHIPS. VERY DECEIVING!

Guest

This has to be the dumbest complaint I had ever heard.

Seriously? When you buy a bag of Chili & Cheese Ruffles, do you think the bag is filled with chili? Hot Wings Ruffles bag is filled with hot wings?

While you can make some decent money here you have to beware of becoming full-time. I am part-time and have been for 4.5 years.

I don't need Full-time pay and my schedule is sun-wed off thurs-sat. The money is good. you get 401k and stock purchase options. You get 5 days UN-paid vacation no matter how long you work for the company.

You must go full-time to get a few weeks paid. As a forklift driver you have to complete your work within a system called LM. You must be positive or else you get write-ups which lead to you getting fired for not meeting their efficiency requirements. You have leads who most of the time won't approve your hot keys when you have to fix a pallet or find boards if you're unloading a trailer.

Supervisors are mainly college folks who never worked on the floor to begin with and they are the ones who constantly keep changing the way things are doing without even knowing how it would affect the work because they dont work on the floor. Management says you're safety is priority and that they welcome suggestions to help improve the site. They never listen. The company is cheap and doesn't want to replace machinery and lifts that are beyond their lifespan.

Lifts are only supposed to be used for so many hours yet many of them are well beyond that time span. Racking systems are jacked up and rollers stick especially on upper levels making it impossible to get a pallet unless the audit person is literally right there pushing pallets forward. Once you pick one up it sticks again. The company is implementing inventory counts once a week.

With product rotating in and out every second counts get jacked up and product gets mixed. Management seems to think though that one inventory count once a week will suffice. Most of the people who do the inventory dont even really count. they scan the location and go to the next one.

You will be required to work overtime even when they say there is NO overtime. If you are full-time you will have no life. They dont care if you are married, single, getting married, have kids, adopting. you're there to work and make them money.

At the site I am at we had a guy lose his foot in a forklift accident and another die near the automated induction lanes. they just wanted you to keep working. I mean just forget that there's a dead guy on the floor. If you work in Core or GES warehouse as a material handler its hot in summer.

especially in Texas. about 10 months of the year expect it to be 100 degrees or more in the warehouse. they rarely run the fans to try and get a breeze going in there. dont expect sympathy from the management.

had a family emergency and went to tell the lead. all he said was, "what you want me to do about it, go if you want and take a half." while that's really how it goes, no consideration at all. didn't even ask what was wrong. remember you're just a laborer there.

At Frito-Lay you are expendable. even if you go above and beyond your job duties you dont get thanked for it. dont do more than your job description or else they will expect you to do it when its not in your job code and probably pays more to begin with. dont give them the opportunity to use you while not paying you what the job should pay.

My job changed to doing inventory but I had to use the stock picker/lift to get to the upper racks. Management promised me the "A" pay that comes with the job. I am a B technician and the A pay is about $2.50 more an hour. I never received this pay and spoke to management who told me I wasn't supposed to get A pay.

So I quit doing that work and was nearly written up for insubordination. LOL. I had to go to HR to get nearly 6 months of back pay I never received. Like I say its a decent place to work.

The pay is good. The friends you make are great. Fun times at times but the management and their constant change and ignorance to things makes it difficult to consider making this place long term career. Of course the overtime and the pay is great as some really like working OT while others may not.

You'll make great money and get bonuses twice a year. Many of my friends including myself drive nice new cars. We got some Mercedes, BMWs, Corvettes, Camaros, Challengers, F350s, etc out there. Nice new custom rides and motorcycles but consider the fact that you will give up all your freedom and family time to this company.

Full-time and they own you. As part-time you cannot be forced in or stay over and can't be called in on days off. oh and you start off as part-time and you are only allowed 1500 hours total for the entire year. if you go over they make you take time off until they see fit to allow you to come back.

Full-time you get starting 2 weeks paid vacay and it goes up with time. You also get floating holidays(days off). As part-time you literally get 5 days unpaid vacation and depending on your management you may be forced to take all 5 days at once. I am allowed to split mine up.

As for seniority most of the time jobs are distributed by seniority. if you're new expect to be unloading trucks and loading all shift. you get yearly uniform allowance and once a year steel toe shoe allowance. you get less as part-time.

once you get in as a laborer dont expect to apply for office positions. They outsource these and many supervisor jobs to mainly young college aged people. many who work at FL will tell you as a new person to bid on anything and everything with job bids.

Tread carefully and research the jobs first. depending on the job it has a restriction and once your locked in you might not be able to bid out of that job for a long while.

Question, I know someone who started working there approximately 2 weeks ago(Maryland) said he was let go because he backed into another forklift... not a major incident. That sounds odd.

Guest

Frito Lay will flat out work you to death without blinking an eye. Avg work week for an RSR is 60+ hours and the OT is a total joke/slap in the face and equals approx.

$10/hr ( they have a formula based on what your route ran divided by blah blah blah) And you think ANY supervisor would see you putting those hours in and ask how you're doing? Hows the family? Not ever in my 6 years have I been asked how Im doing. You are a number, a usually next to impossible number to reach and even if you missed it but put in 60+ hours you will be made to feel like you didn't even show up to work.

I wouldn't recommend this job to ANYONE. And they have the balls to have a class about why the RSRs shouldn't go union!!! Its clearly because if they were protected by a union there would be no way in *** Management would be able to get away with what they throw at us to do.

Many I know have contacted local union reps of other vendor companies and a meeting is taking place soon. I would vote union in a heartbeat and pray to see it.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1366004

I’m with you. For my area we need a union big time.

We have management who doesn’t have a clue but yet wants us to do what it takes to make the numbers.

On my previous route, when I made plan, my DSL flat out told me I’m only doing the bare minimum. We’re just a number

You are so right. Indra Nooyi, CEO of the frito lay is running this company on the ground.

She is showing profit gains in the company by cutting everything. Mainly going to performance pay, taking money from the employees. That’s not taking care of it’s employees! Remember this, she will resign in the next couple of years when there is nothing else to cut out, and she can show no more profit, at which time the company will have lost its market share.

And it will take years to build back up. It takes a long time to turn the titanic around!

Lay's Salt and Vinegar chips

I have to say that I'm really pissed at Frito Lay. I just bought a sandwich and added two one and a half ounce bags of Lay's Salt and Vinegar chips. These are by far my favorite flavor and Lay's Salt and Vinegar are the best out there. Until now!

Both bags had very little vinegar flavor at all. I would estimate that they removed about 80% of the flavor. I gave a bag to my wife who also loves them and asked her to taste them thinking that maybe my taste buds were playing tricks on me but she had the same feeling.

I don't know if they are trying to save money but don't do it at our expense. If I'm spending my hard earned money on a product then that product should be the same as it has been for so many years. I'm sorry Frito Lay but until you bring that exact flavor back I won't be buying anymore of your products.

It's a shame. I REALLY liked them while they lasted.

I don't know how you expect anyone to take your comment seriously when the grammar is so horrible. "The product their are" should be, "So up with the product, there are" Big difference.

The Know one...Come on....even a first grader knows that 'know one' is spelled no one. What are you? In junior high?

Or does someone being so unhappy with Frito Lay really make you that obnoxiously angry? Its an opinion--and not one you technically have to answer to.

Guest

:cry None if their chips taste the same anymore, I hate it!

Guest

NerdlingerSS, not only are you highly rude and making a huge exaggeration about what was being said here, but you also lack some common communication skills necessary for having a mature conversation about someone else's opinion.

If this person is upset (they don't even sell salt and vinegar lays where I live anymore and I lost a piece of my soul the day I found out) by this on a site made for people to post things they are upset about, so be it! I agree!

Guest

I am also very upset with lays. My favorite flavor is the flaming hot brand.

Why did you change the flavor? Why are you cutting the chips too thin as well? What the *** is going on? Please I beg you guys to bring thecorrect flavor back.

If not then you lost me. As a consumer

Frito Lay Cheese Dip

Why does frito laya cheese dip turn into water the next day? I put the dip in a bowel and use a chip to put the dip on. The next day I look at the jar/bowel and it is water..... I am wondering about the chemicals in this dip. Please let me know why this is happening?

The rep that talked to on the phone stated common sense do not dip anything into the dip... She was very ignorant and rude. I never heard of not puttng a chip into the dip. If you do - it causes the dip to liquify.

Frito Lay needs intelligent and customer service oriented people to work for their company.

Bought Mild Cheese Dip and put into refrigerator. Two days later it is all watery and has a weird odor.

Called number on can. Will never buy Again.

I didn't even dip something in mine and it did the same!

Same pretty much yellow water ....what a waste of money

The salt from the chip destabilizes the dip. Take some out and put in a separate bowl and then refridgerate the can that is not tainted with the salt.

The chip isn't a factor. It's opening the jar period that causes the problem..

I spoon mine put. Into another dish and it still does the same thing
